4 Highlights From The Month of November – The Month Of Wellness

As the cold weather is visiting us more often, and the winter has officially started – it is this time that I always start to think and concentrate on my wellness.

It is the time that we are all a bit more prone to illness, low and negative mood, and just overall dissatisfaction of our lifestyle.

This is a great time to pay a bit more attention to our wellness, and draw attention to the highlights of the past month, to keep up that positive attitude.

Month of Wellness

1. Becoming more positive

I am very happy to say, that I am continuing my journey, and actually sticking to almost daily journaling, even if it is just for two minutes in the morning.

This is something that I always wanted to do more consistently, as I noticed that it does make me feel better. However, there were mornings, when I would wake up in a not so great mood, which would in return make it harder to pick up a pen, and write something positive.

Learn from me, these are the moments you need to stick with positive thinking the most.

Last week, I wrote a post about the law of attraction. I wouldn’t consider myself as someone, who practices the law of attraction often. However, I still attempted to practice some of the positive thinking and manifestations techniques.

And so, in the past week, affirmations became one of my favorite thing. I tried to implement it in my day as much as I can.

One of the reasons why I wanted to do it, is because lately I noticed that getting up became a struggle. It is dark, cold, and the fact that the first thought I have when I wake up ‘Oh no!’, is not of big help either.

Now, when I wake up, I try to tell myself ‘It will be a good day’. Before I leave the house for work, I take a minute to write down ‘I am successful’ over and over. And I am not saying that it is making me more successful and bringing me all the goodness in this world, but it DOES make me feel more positive.

Finding the law of attraction and trying to incorporate daily positive affirmations, has definitely been one of the major highlights of this month.

2. Concentrating on my wellness

With the weather getting colder, it is really important to take care of yourself. For me, that meant changing up my diet.

Unfortunately, in the past year I noticed that I am not as healthy anymore, as I would like to be. And with Christmas coming, it doesn’t feel like there will be a lot of chances to actually start eating healthier. Except now.

I am not one for drastic changes in diets. I tried that. It didn’t work.

In order to concentrate on my wellness, together with being more positive, this month I tried to be more mindful. Choosing a healthier option and being a bit more mindful when I eat, are all the small changes that I am trying to incorporate daily.

Additionally, I have been trying to incorporate more healthy fats into my diet. Healthy fats are a great source of energy, and help to absorb more vitamins into our body (1). I can attest that particularly since I made this decision, for the most part, I feel full for longer, and has less naughty cravings.

3. Christmas mood

I love a good Christmas market, and one of the most amazing things is to see how much more alternatives there are to the usual unhealthy, meaty dishes.

Christmas markets are also a great way to spend an afternoon out, looking for more interesting gifts for your loved ones, or just spending time with your friends and family.

As soon as the Christmas market opened, one of the things that I did was going there on a weekday, after work. I don’t usually go out after work, but rather choose to relax at home. However, it was something that I would recommend to do to anyone, especially if you want to avoid big crowds of people!

4. Reading more books

When I was a kid, I really enjoyed reading. But life got in the way, and I stopped.

I am slowly getting back to it now, and finally purchased ‘The Alchemist’. It is a book I heard so much about, and I cannot wait to read it.

To Wrap Up

One of the reasons why I wanted to start this series is to be able to reflect a bit on my life. So often, as the days go by so quickly, we forget to look back and appreciate how much we grow, how much effort we are putting in ourselves and our work, and how much of it is worth being grateful for.

In hopes of being more positive towards myself, more grateful for what I have, I am hoping that I will also be able to inspire some of you with the changes that I incorporate in my life, in order to be happier.

What are your November highlights? What are you grateful for that happened in the past month?
